Tower Hill Passageway: Chapel Royal and Scaffold Site

Tower Green inside the castle was the site of 7 executions in the 15th and 16th centuries. The site of the scaffold is marked in front of the Chapel Royal of St Peter ad Vincula, where many of the Tower’s victims were buried.

For over five hundred years, the Chapel Royal of St Peter ad Vincula has been the Tower’s parish church and the final resting place for many who called the Tower home, and many of those imprisoned within its walls.
