Fort Scott in Bourbon County, Kansas — The American Midwest (Upper Plains)
Walk Fort Scott
Thanks for being here!
This walking trail idea was originally created by the Bourbon County LEAD class of '21, and finished by the class of '22. LEAD Bourbon County is a program organized by the Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce designed to develop and engage the leadership skills of potential and current leaders of our local community. Resources and trained professionals from the Kansas Leadership center are used as well as encouraging guest speakers from local businesses. The class is challenged to do a local project that will engage the community while furthering their leadership and team building skills along the way. This project was funded by a grant originated by The Healthy Bourbon County Action Team. Panels are not place based.

Additional commentary.
1. Finding the markers
I was able to get all 20 (plus one if you count this one) Walk Fort Scott markers, except for #3. It is supposed to be located at the corner of National and Oak. I don't know if it was ever placed, as I looked on Google Maps from the last few years. The marker is about Charles Goodlander, which can be viewed in the link below.
