[English]  In May, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh spent four days celebrating Saskatchewan's centennial in Regina, Lumsden and Saskatoon. In Regina she visited the First Nations University of Canada, unveiled the Northern Tradition and Transition mural above the Legislative Building Rotunda and unveiled the statue of The Queen on Burmese, here in this garden. Saskatchewan-born Burmese was her favourite horse. The garden was also dedicated The Queen Elizabeth II Gardens.

She visited the RCMP “Depot” Division to place a wreath at the cenotaph in honour of four RCMP members who died that year in the line of duty in Mayerthorpe, Alberta. She opened The Queen Elizabeth II Wing of Government House, visited the Canadian Light Source Synchrotron in Saskatoon and had lunch with the community of Lumsden.
