H. J. Heinz
Henry John Heinz made his tomato ketchup known the world over, as the most identifiable product of his legendary H. J. Heinz Company. The man behind the brand was born to German immigrants in what is now Pittsburgh's South Side. Up the Allegheny River in Sharpsburg, he launched the food business eventually based in Pittsburgh. Heinz grew to fame for his "57 Varieties" of "Pure Food" products, as well as his fair treatment of employees.
