Army of the Mississippi.
This regiment occupied the right of the Confederate line of battle April 6, 1862, and was engaged along the Tennessee River until 4 p.m. when it came upon the high ground, and was in position here at 5.30 p.m., when Union prisoners were captured. It then moved by the right flank, due east, to the Mounds.
 
Erected by Shiloh National Battlefield Commission. (Marker Number 467.)
