This regiment was in reserve here from 9 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. April 6, 1862. It then moved by right flank down Tilghman Creek and engaged Wharton's Cavalry which was moving by flank up the creek. It was next engaged at 15th Ill. camp.
 
Erected by Shiloh National Military Park Commission. (Marker Number 96.)
