Shaver's (1st) Brigade,
7th Ark., 2d Ark., 6th Ark., 3d Confederate,
Hardee's Corps,
Army of the Mississippi.
This brigade, with its regiments in order from left to right as above, made an attack at this place at 11.30 a.m., April 6, 1862. It was repulsed and retired to Prentiss' camp for ammunition. Its next attack was to front and right.
 
Erected by Shiloh National Military Park Commission. (Marker Number 418.)
