Hiestand Park. . The Hiestand family farmed this land for the last half of the 19th century. Settling here in the 1850's, Jacob Hiestand grew the first tobacco raised in Wisconsin. He served Blooming Grove in many capacities, including that of village chairman. His son was also a farm and community leader greatly respected for his untiring patience and assistance to young people. Another son, William was the registrar of the UW for many years. .
