Army of the Tennessee.
McAllister's Battery,
45th, 43d, 49th, 17th, 20th, and 49th Illinois,
McClernand's (1st) Division.

This battery, with three guns, was engaged here about 4 P.M., April 6, 1862. At 9 a.m. on the 7th, with two guns, it was again engaged here. In this last engagement it was supported by the six Illinois regiments in order as above, commanded by Col. Marsh.
