1. Old Navy Yard Marker
Inscription. Five vessels of Commodore Perry's fleet were reconditioned on south bank at mouth of Scajaquada Creek.
 
Erected 1956 by New York State Education Department.

Location. Marker is missing. It was located near 42° 55.701′ N, 78° 53.863′ W. Marker was in Buffalo, New York, in Erie County. It was in Black Rock. Marker was on Niagara Street (New York State Route 266) 0.1 miles south of Tonawanda Street (New York State Route 265), on the right when traveling south. The marker lies at one of the access points of the Scajaquada Pathway. It is only accessable from the nearby surface street (Niagara Street). The I-190 and Scajaquada Expressway (SR-198) interchange flyover both the neighborhood and Pathway. As of 10/06/2019 the area along the sidewalk here is the site of construction. The marker is missing, hopefully only due to the construction. Touch for map. Marker was in this post office area: Buffalo NY 14207, United States of America. Touch for directions.

The Niagara River lies just beyond the bridges. Original the creek turned north toward the river for a larger harbor. The construction of I-190 and the Scajaquada Expressway required the re-routing of the creek.
