1. First Meeting House Marker
Inscription. Here stood Mendon's first meetinghouse, built in 1668 and destroyed by Indians in 1676. Joseph Emerson, the minister, was an ancestor of Ralph Waldo Emerson.
 
Erected 1930 by Massachusetts Bay Colony-Tercentenary Commission.
