1. Presley and Amelia Cordell Marker

Inscription. Reinterred July 1868 from an older cemetery, here rest Presley Cordell and wife Amelia Conner. Both died in July 1849. He had been a silversmith and served as mayor of Leesburg, Virginia. His group left there 15 Oct. 1835 and included his mother Catharine Basye, and some Garrett and Humphreys relatives. They went overland to Wheeling, then by boat via Louisville and were met in St. Louis on 9 Nov. 1835 by his cousin Hiram Cordell.
