1. Samuel Torres Marker
Inscription. Samuel Torres arrived in Rochester in 1950 and was instrumental in building Rochester's Hispanic community. He spoke out against discrimination in housing and employment practices and was dedicated. to encouraging Hispanics to vote and to seek public office. He headed the Puerto Rican Democratic Committee and was a founder of the Puerto Rican Affairs Committee. This park was dedicated in his honor, June 9, 1984
