Inscription. R. J. Leete, Liberal, Kansas Jaycee President in 1950, issued a challenge to Vicar Ronald Collins of Olney, England to turn his 500-year-old race into an international event....thus beginning a Shrove Tuesday tradition of peace, goodwill and friendship.
