1. Monument Removed
Per a review of Google Street views the monument was removed after December 2016 and before Dec 2022.

2. Monument Removed and State Fine Paid.
The Lowndes County Commission voted unanimously to remove this Confederate monument and it was removed June 28, 2020. The removal violated the Alabama Memorial Preservation Act. The State of Alabama Attorney General’s office stated that Lowndes County had agreed to pay a $25,000 civil penalty without a court order. A Lowndesboro resident donated the $25,000 to the Lowndes County Commission to pay the fine imposed by the state.
