1. Cushing Street Marker
Inscription. Named in 1872 for First Lieutenant Howard B. Cushing (b.1838- d.1871). During his early military career, Cushing participated in many notable Civil War battles, including Shiloh, Fredericksburg, Gettysburg and Hatcher’s Run. In 1871, while in pursuit of Apache leader Cochise, Lieutenant Cushing was killed by Apache Indians.
 
Erected 2013 by City of Tucson Historic Preservation Office.
