South building -
A pharmacy has been in this brick building since it was built. Lloyd Montross purchased the pharmacy and the building in 1921. His son, George, bought into the business in 1940 and was responsible for the additions to the building. Charles Tucker, Jr. had a real estate office on the second floor in 1923. The second floor now houses apartments.
North building -
A meat market operated from a wood building on this lot in 1854. At that time, there was a corral behind the building. Groceries, dry goods, and boots and shoes were sold here in the 1880's and '90's.
In 1903 Seidler Grocery was established. Later it became part of the Easter's Grocery chain which operated into the 1970's. In the 1940's Easter's made home deliveries on Tuesdays and Friday's for orders received by 2 p.m. Espresso Yourself, a coffee shop, opened in 1996 on the first floor. The second floor has been occupied by various businesses over the years.
