Additional commentary.
1. The Tulip Tree and the Council Oak
I am 93 years old.I grew up in South Bend. The two most memorable trees of my childhood were the tulip tree in Newton's Woods and the Council Oak in Riverview Cemetery at LaSalle's Landing, Portage, Indiana. Both are now gone, but they carry many memories.
