Inscription. Clifton Gorge has been designed a Registered Natural Landmark under the provisions of the Historic Sites Act of August 21, 1935 this site possesses exceptional value in illustrating the natural history of the United States U. S. Department of the Interior National Park Service 1967

Location. 39° 47.712′ N, 83° 49.691′ W. Marker is in Clifton, Ohio, in Greene County. It is on Jackson Street 0.1 miles south of St Rt 343 (Ohio Route 343), on the right when traveling south. Marker is located in a small park, which serves as a trail head, on the west edge of the Village of Clifton. The driveway is off Jackson Street, about 600 feet south of St Rt 343. This about ½ mile south east of the Trail Head on St. Rt. 343. It is a city block west of the Clifton Mill; at the southwest corner of the village. Touch for map.
