Once assigned to the 194th Tank Battalion at Johnston, Iowa. The M60A3 model tank weighs 57 tons and has a 105-millimeter main gun, a .50-caliber machine gun, and a 7.62-millimeter machine gun. It is powered by a 750-horsepower diesel engine, which is capable of a top speed of 30 miles per hour.

Dedication at Hutchinson was on November 2, 2013. Previously displayed at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City. It, and other aircraft, were removed to make room to display the space shuttle Enterprise. The names of Col. William M. Gavora (pilot) and Col. Danny C. Snodgrass (copilot/gunner) are on the windows of the helicopter.

The AH-1 Cobra was the first helicopter designed specifically for the ground-attack role. Entering service in 1967, the Huey Cobra quickly established an impressive combat record during the Vietnam War (1964-1975). It's standard armament included 52 wing mounted 2.75 inch rockets, a six-barreled 7.62mm mini-gun (capable of expending up to 6,000 rounds per minute) and a 40mm grenade launcher.

Almost 6,000 helicopter air crew sacrificed their lives in Vietnam alone, but in doing so saved nearly 1 million lives. Let us not forget them. This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.
