Col. A.K. JohnsonHeld this line and one about 200 yards south against heavy and constant fire 9.30 a.m. to 2.00 p.m., April 6, 1862, then retreated to the woods on the north side of this field. The regiment lost in this battle 2 officers and 27 men killed, 8 officers and 203 men wounded, 1 officer and 4 men missing. Total, 245.
