Text on Back Side:
from Gower's Ford on
the evening of the
18th, marching the entire
night to a position
near the Kelly House.
Being heavily engaged in
two positions on the 19th.
About midnight of the 19th
advanced from bivouac in the
Dyer Field. reaching this position
after several changes to the
left. Here, about 11 a.m. on the
20th, the battery became
desperately engaged at double-
canister range, and all supports
on the right having been forced
back and many of the horses
killed. It became necessary
to abandon three pieces,
the other three were withdrawn
to the hill in rear. Casualties 11.
During the operations at
Chattanooga, the battery occupied
a position in Fort Negley.

I used the "Chickamauga Battlefield" map, that I purchased at the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, Visitor Center, to determine both the monument number for this marker and the marker's location in relation to the rest of the park's monuments, markers, and tablets. According to the map it provides the, "numerical listing of all monuments, markers, and tablets on the Chickamauga Battlefield (using the Chick-Chatt NMP Monument Numbering System)."
