Regarding El Mozote. On December 11, 1981 Salvadoran Army forces massacred over nine hundred inhabitants of the village of El Mozote. Not until the end of the Salvadoran Civil War in 1992 did an Argentinean forensic team begin the exhumations of the men, women and children killed.

3. Grave of Rufina Amaya
Rufina Amaya was one of the few survivors of the El Mozote massacre and was buried here with the other victims. The tombstone reads (translated to English): June 10, 1942 - March 6, 2007. "El Mozote never again".
