Regarding Fenner-Snyder Mill. NRHP 76001650 Statement of Significance Excerpt:
A mill and milling operation is believed to have been associated with the site of this nomination as early as 1729. Tax records indicate that a log mill was in production in 1772. It was probably this mill that was used as a storage place for Sullivan's campaign against the Iroquois in 1779.
The present mill is believed to have been built in 1800 by Bernhard Fenner. It had a continuous milling operation from its inception up to mid-April of 19554 The mill produced both flour and feed.
