Helm's Brigade, - Brigadier General Benjamin H. Helm.
Helm's Brigade, - Colonel Joseph H. Lewis.
Adam's Brigade, - Brigadier General Daniel W. Adams.
Stovall's Brigade, - Brigadier General Marcellus A. Stovall.
This Division formed for attack about 600 yards east of this point with Helm's brigade on the left Stovall's in the center and Adams' on the right. About 9:30 it advanced. Helm's brigade moving under heavy fire emerged from the woods at this point and assaulted the Union lines on the opposite side of this glade. In three assaults it was repulsed with very heavy loss though the right of the brigade penetrated to the Lafayette road and captured two guns of Bridges' battery. Stovall and Adams reached the Lafayette road without serious opposition. These latter brigades then changed front to the left and advanced south Adams being on the right and Stovall on the left of the Lafayette road to point in the Kelly field quite in the rear of the Union left.

Marker is at the intersection of Alexander Bridge Road and Battleline Road, on the left when traveling east on Alexander Bridge Road. This monument is located in the national park that preserves the site of the Chickamauga Battlefield, along the north side of the national park's battlefield tour roadway called Alexander Bridge Road.
