Location. 34° 55.069′ N, 85° 15.633′ W. Marker is near Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, in Catoosa County. Marker is at the intersection of Lafayette Road and Brotherton Road, on the left when traveling south on Lafayette Road. This historical marker is located along the main road that runs north to south through the national park and is situated directly across the street from the site of the Brotherton House. According to the location information provided by the National Park Service the, “Monument located within the Chickamauga Battlefield just northeast of the intersection of the LaFayette Road and Brotherton Road, map site #179”. More about this monument. According to the description information provided by the National Park Service, the monument is, “6'2" square at base and 5' high, the monument consists of a pyramid of cannonballs set in cement & painted black, resting on a molded limestone base. Attached to base is a painted metal plaque identifying the headquarters site. The square base of the pyramid is made up of 8-inch artillery shells: seven wide X seven deep. It is seven layers high.”

According to the map it provides the, "numerical listing of all monuments, markers, and tablets on the Chickamauga Battlefield (using the Chick-Chatt NMP Monument Numbering System).”
