One of the first settlers of Newbury, 1762,
Influential in organizing the town and state;
Revolutionary officer;
Aid to General Lincoln at Ticonderoga, 1777,
A prisoner in Canada 1781,
Elected representative ten times.
This marks the location of the first settlement of the town.
