1. Dade County Marker
Inscription. Born 1793 in Virginia. Joined 12th U.S. Infantry in 1813; Served with it thru War of 1812; In 4th Regiment rest of his life. Promoted from 3rd Lieut. to Major, Commanded garrison at Key West. In Seminole War was sent with 117 men to aid Gen. Clinch at Fort Drane. Ambushed by 200 Indians and Negroes. Killed in Dade Massacre Dec. 28, 1835. Only three escaping. Monument to Maj. Dade is before Memorial Hall at West Point.
 
Erected 1949 by the Dade County Commissioners, and William Carroll Lee Chapter under the auspices of the National Society United States Daughters of 1812 in the State of Florida.

3. Miami-Dade County Courthouse
The marker is on the south wall of the courthouse, to the left of the front entrance. Currently, the courthouse is being renovated, so that the marker is behind a construction fence.
