1. Moore's Blacksmith Shop Marker
Inscription. James E. Moore, the son of Irish immigrants, worked as a blacksmith in the logging camps of the late 1800's. It was there that he met his wife Mirah who was employed as a cook and laundress. In 1910 he founded Moore's Blacksmith Shop which served the early timber industry. The shop was sold to his son Leonard in 1943. Leonard sold the business to his son Richard in 1973. The shop at this time built agricultural equipment for the world market. In 2005 it was passed on to Jim Moore, the great grand-son of James with his children children assisting in the business. The shop celebrates its 100th anniversary this year and has been owned and operated by the Moore family for five generations.
