1. Whipponong Cemetery Marker

Inscription. Township of Hanover Historic Sites Committee-This land was given by John Richards to his Christian Friends and neighbors to erect a suitable meeting house for the public worship of God, a School House, Burying Yard and Training Field. The first church and school in Morris and Sussex Counties built here, fall 1718. Used as a cemetery 1718-1976. Accepted and designated as a Historic Site by the Township of Hanover July 8, 1978.
