Inscription. Erected by the men and women of East and West Baton Rouge to perpetuate the heroism and patriotic devotion of the noble soldiers from the two parishes who wore the gray and crossed the river with their immortal leaders to rest under the shade of the trees.

Location. Monument has been reported permanently removed. It was located near 30° 26.814′ N, 91° 11.334′ W. Monument was in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in East Baton Rouge Parish. It could be reached from the intersection of North Boulevard and Lafayette Street, on the left when traveling west. Located on the grounds of Louisiana's Old State Capitol grounds. Touch for map.
