Text on the Second Tablet:
The Brigade formed on this line early September 20th, and constructed log works in its front. The Confederates attacked soon after 10 A.M. and after an hour's fighting were repulsed. After the break in the center of the Union line near Brotherton's the right of the Brigade was thrown to the rear and faced south. E.A. King's Brigade on its right being still further withdrawn and faced toward Poe's and the LaFayette road. About 5 P.M. the Brigade withdrew, marching north on the LaFayette road to the north side of the Kelly field, where it filed to the left, and facing north charged through the fields south and west of McDonald's

I used the "Chickamauga Battlefield" map, that I purchased at the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, Visitor Center, to determine both the marker number for this tablet and the tablet's location in relation to the rest of the park's monuments, markers, and tablets. According to the map it provides the, "numerical listing of all monuments, markers, and tablets on the Chickamauga Battlefield (using the Chick-Chatt NMP Monument Numbering System).”
