The Battery, supported by General Dibrell's Brigade dismounted, came into position on this ground about 2:30 P.M. by order of General Forrest as General Maney's Brigade on the left was hard pressed and retiring before the overwhelming force of the enemy. The Battery opened and kept up a destructive fire till the enemy was within 50 yards of the guns, getting off the field with all its pieces, notwithstanding the loss of horses. The supporting infantry fell back with the artillery. The battery was retired to the high ground in rear and was not further engaged during the day. Casualties: Not given.
