Old Wintonbury Cemetery
This gateway and fence were erected to the memory of the founders and descendants of ancient Wintonbury through the generosity of Mrs. Alice Bidwell Francis and Miss Caroline Roberts whose ancestors for four generations were buried here. All were direct descendants of John bidwell an original settler of Hartford

Old Wintonbury Cemetery
The parish of Win-Ton-Bury established October 1736 within the towns of Windsor, Farmington and Simsbury wrom which towns it derived its name was incorporated as a town by act of legislature May 1936 and name changed to Bloomfield. ——— Care of this old burying ground is now vested in the Wintonbury Cemetery Association incorporated November 6, 1925
