In commemoration of the deeds
of valor of her native sons in
the War of the Rebellion, the
State of Pennsylvania maintained
the Harford Soldiers Orphan
School on these grounds from
1865 to 1901 for the education
of their children.
With grateful hearts
this tablet is erected by
the Northeastern Pennsylvania
Soldiers Orphan School Association
August 21, 1926
