1. The Japanese Garden on Mirror Lake Marker
Inscription. Was originally conceived in 1970 with construction being completed in 1972. The purpose was to create a place of beauty and tranquility as well as commemorate the sister city relationship between Buffalo and Kanazawa, Japan.

In 1996 the garden was renovated and rededicated. This was made possible by a grant from the Commemorative Fund, the generous support of the people of Kanazawa and funds provided by the City of Buffalo.
 
Location. 42° 56.12′ N, 78° 52.529′ W. Marker is in Buffalo, New York, in Erie County. Marker can be reached from Nottingham Terrace 0.2 miles east of Elmwood Ave. Touch for map. To see this marker, park at the Buffalo Historical Museum, enter the Japanese Garden entrance near the southern end of the parking area, and follow the path along Mirror Lake. Marker is on left of path as it makes a sharper curve to the south. Marker is in this post office area: Buffalo NY 14216, United States of America.
