Inscription.
This fort was built by
patriotic donors in 1907
to honor veterans of the
Grand Army of the Republic.
It was rebuilt in 1985
with funds bequethed by
Luther H. Peirce, a member
of the Second Maine Regiment
of Volunteers in the Civil War.
