Inscription. Janice Hawkins Park was named in honor of the First Lady of Troy University, a devoted wife and loving mother, whose work benefited Troy in the fine arts, service to students, internationalization of the University, and support of military veterans. Mrs. Hawkins' devotion to the appearance of the University grounds produced a campus of unmatched beauty.
 
Erected 2015 by Troy University.
 
Location. 31° 48.042′ N, 85° 57.606′ W. Marker is in Troy, Alabama, in Pike County. Marker can be reached from Luther Drive 0.1 miles north of University Avenue, on the left when traveling north. Touch for map. Located behind the Troy University, Frank Ross Stewart Hall, above the eastern side of the Janice Hawkins Park.
