!937- With connections to Hollywood, Marine Studios founders - Douglas Burden, CV Whitney, and Illia Tolstoy - collaborate to create an underwater film studio. The design would allow cameramen to capture the ocean on screen without getting wet.

1938- The parking lot at today's Marineland Dolphine Adventure sits where the original Marine Studios circular and rectangular oceanariums were built.

May 1937 - Construction of Marine Studios begins. Builders place specially-designed windows throughout the structures to allow for the perfect shot from any angle.

The dolphins quickly show themselves to be smarter than expected. Flippy, the dolphin and his trainer, Adolph Frohn, set out to discover whether a dolphin can be trained.
