Cruz Atrial Monolítica
La Cruz Atrial de Huichapan, del siglo XVI, es similar a las ubicadas en Atzacoalco, México, y la Villa de Guadalupe, y fue labrada en un solo bloque de piedra. Al pie de la cruz se observa el cáliz y la hostia, por encima de ellas aparece uno de los clavos y un chorro de sangre que revela la iconografía y la mano de obra indígena; un poco más arriba, se ve la columna de la flagelación, con las sogas con las que se ató a Cristo, formando dos equis sobre el fuste de la columna. Sobre ella reposa el gallo que hace referencia a las negaciones de San Pedro la noche del Predimiento. La corona de espinas rodea el palo vertical y descansa sobre los brazos de la cruz, a manera de guirnalda. Por encima de ésta, aparece el rostro de Cristo, también coronado con espinas. En el remate, se observa la amplia cartel con la leyenda INRI.

Los brazos de travesaño están decorados cada uno con una cinta, parecida a una estola, que cruza sobre sí misma formando una equis y que posiblement emula el lienzo usado para el Descendimiento. A cada lado, aparecen los clavos de la crucifixión sobre abundantes chorros

En los costados del palo vertical se encuentran el sol y lan luna con rostros humanos, la tenaza, la escalera, la túnica, la lanza, la caña, el hisopo con la esponja empapada en vinagre y la espada de Pedro con tood y la oreja de Malco (el soldado romano), los dados, el flagelo, una pila de monedas (que recuerdan la traición de Judas) y un puño con un mechón de cabello arrancado a Cristo

Monolithic Cross of the Atrium

Atrial Huichapan Cross, in the sixteenth century, is similar to those located in Atzacoalco, Mexico and Villa de Guadalupe, was carved from a single block of stone. At the foot of the cross the chalice and the host is observed, above them appears one of the nails and a stream of blood that reveals the iconography and Indian labor; a little higher, the column is flogging, with ropes with which he tied to Christ, forming two Xs on the shaft of the column. On it rests the rooster that refers to the denials of San Pedro Arrest night. The crown of thorns sits around the vertical post and rests on the arms of the cross, as a garland. Above this, the face of Christ, crowned with thorns also appears. In the auction, a gusset with INRI is observed.

over itself to form an X and possibly emulate the canvas used for the Descent. On each side, the nails of the crucifixion with abundant streams of blood appear. The tips of the cross were topped with flowers. On the sides of the vertical post the sun and moon with human faces, tongs, ladder, tunic, spear, cane, sponger swab soaked in vinegar and Peter’s sword with everything and ear of Malco (Roman soldier), dice, the scourge, a pile of coins (recalling the treachery of Judas) and a fist with a lock of hair ripped from Christ.
