Capilla de la Tercera Orden
La Tercera Orden, ideada por San Francisco de Asís, fue fundada en 1221 con el nombre de Hermanos y Hermanas de Penitencia como un tip de estado intermedio entre el claustro y el mundo. A ella podían ingresar aquellas personas devotas de uno u otro sexo que, deseando seguir los pasos del santo, estuvieran impedidos, por matrimonio u otros compromisos, de entrar ya sea a la primera o a la segunda orden, la de los Frailes Menores o las Hermanas en Pobres. Esta capilla en Huichapan, con advocación a ella, fue construida en 1784 con los recursos aportados para ello por el Benefactor Don Manuel González Ponce de León. Su portada tiene gran influencia del siglo XVI, y en su interior se encuentra un retablo de estilo barroco en el que se destacan la Virgen del Apocalipsis, San Francisco de Asís y San Luis Rey de Francia.
