Inscription.

The Temple of Saint Michael Archangel
Construction began in the year 1649, and it was finished until 1718.

Devotion to Saint Michael Archangel emerged since Franciscan Missionaries from Cadereyta placed his image at this place, before it was built as a temple. It is one of the few temples which still keeps its original atrium and it is almost unique because it has a pulpit on its outside part; its bell tower has three bodies.

Erected 2002.

Note the pulpit to the right of the main entrance to the temple, a very unusual feature. The pulpit was probably used for large outdoor masses given in the atrium.
