Regarding Francisco I. Madero. Madero was arrested while still a candidate for the presidency of Mexico and kept here at what was in 1910 a penitentiary. He soon escaped and wrote the "Plan de San Luis", which called for the overthrow of the Díaz government, sparking the Mexican Revolution.
