“Queda inaugurado en el dia de hoy y abierto para siempre al uso publico el nuevo puerto artificial de Veracruz construido a expensas del tesoro de la nación y para beneficio de la misma”……Presidente Porfirio Diaz Mori

Excerpt from the Act of Inauguration of the Works of the Port of Veracruz on March 6, 1902.
“The new artificial port of Veracruz, built through the use of the treasure of the nation, is inaugurated today and open forever for the public’s use and benefit”…… President Porfirio Diaz Mori
