Inscription. Cheese was first made here in 1873 by Julius Wettstein. In 1892 Emil Frey developed Liederkranz & c.1917 Velveeta. Moved to Van Wert, Ohio 1926.
 
Erected 1989 by Town of Monroe Historical Society.
