1. Monroe Cheese Co. Marker
Inscription. Cheese was first made here in 1873 by Julius Wettstein. In 1892 Emil Frey developed Liederkranz & c.1917 Velveeta. Moved to Van Wert, Ohio 1926.
 
Erected 1989 by Town of Monroe Historical Society.
 
Location. 41° 19.596′ N, 74° 11.293′ W. Marker is in Monroe, New York, in Orange County. Marker is on Millpond Pkwy near Smith Field Court. Touch for map. Next to the Monroe movie theater. Marker is at or near this postal address: 34 Millpond Pkwy, Monroe NY 10950, United States of America.
