Location. 35° 2.224′ N, 85° 15.27′ W. Marker is in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in Hamilton County. It is in Glenwood. Memorial is on North Crest Road north of Shallowford Road, on the left when traveling north. This historical marker is located on the western crest of Missionary Ridge, opposite the residence at 120 North Crest Road, between Shallowford Road and the Turchin Reservation. According to the location provided by National Park Service, the, “Marker located at 122 North Crest Road/1934 Map 109 on Missionary Ridge.". Touch for map. More about this marker. According to the description provided by National Park Service, the monument is, “2'6" x 1'2" x 2'6" high rectangular slab of dark Quincy granite. Rock-faced sides; polished & inscribed front. "Illinois" is in large raised letters on beveled top. Marks unit's position at 5:00 p.m. on November 25, 1863."
