1. Cardinal Direction Marker: South Marker
Inscription.  
This stone is one of four Cardinal Direction Markers that honor the four directions—north, east, south, and west. Representatives of Native communities in Canada, Maryland, Chile, and Hawai'i selected a meaningful stone from their region.

This southern marker is a granite stone between 65 and 145 million years old. It traveled more than 18,000 miles from Tierra del Fuego, the southernmost point of South America.

Please respect the animals, rocks, and plants around you.
Do not play on the marker.

Esta roca es una de cuatro Marcadores de las Direcciones Cardinales que honran a las cuatro direccsiones: norte, este, sur & oeste. Representantes de comunidades indígenas de Canadá, el estado de Maryland, Chile y el estado de Hawái seleccionaron una roca significativa para representar su región.

Este marcador del sur es una roca de granito de entre 65 y 145 millones de años. Viajó más de 18.000 millas desde Tierra del Fuego, el punto más austral de América del Sur.
