1 Florida, Marion County, Ocala — First Presbyterian Church
On Southeast 3rd Street just east of Alvarez Avenue, on the left when traveling east.
This Church was founded in 1857 while Florida was still a pioneer state. This Colonial Federal Style Building was built in 1927. The bell in the steeple, dated 1891, still rings.Map (db m189452) HM
2 Florida, Marion County, Ocala — Gazebo
On East Silver Springs Boulevard (State Road 40) east of South Magnolia Avenue, on the right when traveling east.
The original Gazebo existed on the square from the 1880’s until it fell into disrepair in the 1940’s. The Ocala Historic Preservation Society provided funding to have the Gazebo reconstructed, and the replica was dedicated on July 4, 1987.Map (db m189396) HM
3 Florida, Marion County, Ocala — Agnew-Gary Block
On South Magnolia Avenue just south of West Silver Springs Boulevard (Florida Road 40), on the right when traveling south.
This building was built in 1884 and is one of the first buildings constructed after the Thanksgiving Day fire. Early occupants include a funeral parlor, dry goods store and hardware store.Map (db m189397) HM

The Congregation began with six families in 1849. This Carpenter Gothic Style Church was built in 1880 and cost $743. In 1905 this building was disassembled and moved five blocks to this location.Map (db m189463) HM

This Queen Anne Style home features Georgian Revival characteristics. It was built in 1910 and is named for Harry Clarkson. He was the owner of the Clarkson Hardware Company which was located where The Marion Theater is on Magnolia Avenue.Map (db m189465) HM

This Victorian Vernacular Style home was built in 1892, by William Robert Bryant. He was a successful farmer who moved from Missouri to Ocala in the 1880’s. His grandson, Cecil Farris Bryant, served as the 34th Governor of the State of Florida.Map (db m189499) HM

On East Fort King Street at Southeast Wenona Avenue (Southeast 8th Avenue), on the left when traveling east on East Fort King Street.
This Victorian Frame Style House was built in 1891. It is named for Zack Chambliss who co-founded the Munroe-Chambliss Bank, and also founded The First Livestock Firm in Marion County in 1892.Map (db m189501) HM

This building was built in 1885, and contains Ocala’s first elevator. Originally there was a drug store on the first floor, offices on the second floor, and an Opera House on the top floor with seating for 900 people.Map (db m189538) HM

This building was built in 1884 following the great fire. McCrory’s Five and Dime Store occupied this building from 1929 until 1991. It was renovated by Blanchard, Merriam, Adel and Kirkland P.A. in 1993.Map (db m189539) HM

This theatre opened in September 1941, and was Ocala’s first air-conditioned building. A movie cost 39 cents, and originally seated 900 patrons. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.Map (db m237513) HM

On South Magnolia Avenue south of West Silver Springs Boulevard (Florida Road 40), on the right when traveling south.
This building was built in 1895 as a Masonic Hall. Artist Joyce Ballantine-Brand lived in a upstairs apartment for more than 30 years. She featured her daughter in an advertisement for the Coppertone Company in 1959.Map (db m189542) HM

This Victorian Queen Anne Style home was built in 1891. Charles and Emma Rheinauer purchased the home in 1895. He founded The Rheinauer Department Store, was the president of the LaCriole Cigar Company, and became mayor of Ocala in 1906.Map (db m189605) HM
