Benito Juarez.
Presidente de la Republica Mexicana.
4 de junio de 1863
cuando atravesó el país para salvar la dignidad
de la patria combatida por la invasión extranjera
y 5 de julio de 1867 despues de haber salvado
la soberanía de la Republica.
Colocase esta lapida conmemorativa
en el primer centenario del nacimiento
del esclarecido patriota,
21 de marzo de 1806.

English translation:
On two memorable and historical occasions
the esteemed citizen,
Benito Juarez
President of the Mexican Republic
was housed in this palace.
On June 4, 1863, when he crossed the country to save the dignity of the nation shaken by foreign invasion
and on July 5, 1867 after having saved the sovereignty of the Republic.
This commemorative memorial is placed on the first centenary of the birth of the enlightened patriot,
March 21, 1806
March 21, 1906.

The palace was restored during the Presidency of Miguel Alemán. The marker reads:

Con fondos del erario del estado se reconstruyo y adapto este palacio. Se digno inaugurarlo el C. Lic. Miguel Aleman, Presidente Constitucional de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos, el dia 1º de octubre de 1947.
Las obras de reconstrucción y adaptación se iniciaron el mes de enero de 1944, por orden del C. Gobernador Constitucional del estado, Lic. Agapito Pozo, bajo cuya administración se llevaron al cabo.
