St. Sebastian's Temple

St. Sebastian’s Temple
Built between 1700 and 1725, Saint Sebastian Martyr’s Parish is considered the most important temple in Bernal.
The temple’s picturesque architecture doesn’t have a specific style dominating; nonetheless, the indigenous hand can be discovered when observing the details located at the belfry’s tower. The stained-glass windows were placed time later, offering an original perspective of the interiors.
At the highest point of the door’s arch, the initials “TA” correspond to Tiburcio Ángeles, the benefactor who financed the change of ceiling and the placement of buttresses.
Until recently, the atrium was used as a graveyard.
